About Well Women Centre
Well Women Centre provides person-centred counselling and therapeutic support within a women-only safe space, available for face-to-face sessions or telephone support. As a member of the British Association for Counselling, the centre offers one-to-one general counselling alongside dedicated case worker support for women dealing with current or historical abuse, combining practical and emotional guidance tailored to individual needs.
Beyond individual therapy, Well Women Centre fosters emotional wellbeing through peer support group sessions, creating community and connection for women navigating difficult experiences. The centre also offers therapeutic creative activities including arts and crafts, card-making, knitting, sewing, glass painting and painting by numbers—gentle, engaging ways to support mental health alongside formal counselling.
Specialising in support for women affected by domestic abuse, the centre delivers the nationally recognised Freedom Programme to children in primary schools, helping young people process experiences of abuse in an age-appropriate, evidence-based way. This commitment to holistic, trauma-informed care extends across the lifespan, recognising that healing takes many forms.
Well Women Centre is dedicated to supporting women at different stages of their journey—whether seeking individual counselling, community connection through peer groups, creative therapeutic outlets, or specialist help navigating abuse and its aftermath. The centre provides a confidential, compassionate space where women's voices are heard and their wellbeing prioritised.
