About Thumbs Up
Thumbs Up provides occupational therapy in the home environment for children and young adults aged 1 to 20 years. The team is HCPC-registered and a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, bringing professional expertise to every session.
Therapy sessions use a variety of therapeutic approaches including sensory integration and gross and fine motor activities. Through games and creative play, young people develop skills while building confidence. When needed, school visits are also part of the therapeutic approach, particularly when a child is struggling in an educational setting.
Each client begins with an assessment to identify their occupational therapy needs and outline a clear path forward. Parent support and involvement in sessions is recognised as vital to the therapeutic process, ensuring families are equipped to support progress at home.
