About Sonia Hilder Counselling & Psychotherapy
Sonia Hilder Counselling & Psychotherapy offers a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support individuals and couples through life's challenges. With over 35 years of experience, Sonia is an accredited therapist with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and a member of the Association for Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT).
Sonia works with Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), a short, time-limited framework typically lasting no longer than sixteen sessions, alongside CBT methods that incorporate practical tasks and homework to extend the benefits beyond the session itself. She also holds accredited EMDR training and draws on systemic therapy approaches developed through her background with Relate.
She has extensive experience supporting clients with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, anger management, and confidence building. Her work includes general counselling for individuals, couples counselling for relationship concerns, bereavement support, and family and systemic therapy. She also offers supervision support to workers in voluntary agencies.
