About Sheryl Whyte
Sheryl Whyte is an MBACP-accredited counsellor and psychotherapist offering a range of evidence-based talking therapies for individuals and couples. With a Diploma in Supervision and experience supporting qualified and trainee practitioners since 2007, she brings depth and professionalism to her work.
For individual clients, Sheryl offers several therapeutic approaches tailored to different needs. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) focuses on how thoughts, feelings and behaviours connect and influence one another. Psychodynamic Therapy helps you understand the root causes of current difficulties. Humanistic Therapy provides space to explore creativity and personal growth. Transactional Analysis works with self-development and personal growth through understanding communication patterns. She also offers EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), a specialist trauma-informed approach, alongside relaxation techniques, imagery and mindfulness as complementary tools.
For couples, Sheryl provides couples counselling using a systemic approach to help partners understand relationship dynamics and work towards positive change together.
Sheryl is a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and works to their ethical framework and standards. Whether you're navigating personal challenges, relationship difficulties, or the aftermath of trauma, her varied toolkit and supervisory experience mean you'll receive thoughtful, individualised care.
