About Sarah Van Gogh
Sarah Van Gogh is a Senior Accredited Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, with over two decades of experience in private practice working with a wide range of clients. Since qualifying with her diploma in 1999, she has developed particular expertise in anxiety, depression, bereavement, post-traumatic stress, and relationship difficulties.
Sarah offers integrative counselling and psychodynamic therapy, drawing on approaches that allow her to work creatively with what causes pain, overwhelm, or blocks progress. Her integrative approach means she also offers opportunities to work explicitly with imagination, including guided visualisation, free-drawing, and free-writing as part of the therapeutic process. She provides general counselling sessions, anxiety therapy, depression therapy, bereavement counselling, and couples counselling, tailoring her work to each client's needs.
Her professional background includes work for a number of counselling services, including a bereavement service, which has deepened her understanding of loss and transition. She is also a Senior Accredited Member and Honorary Fellow of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.
Sarah works with clients seeking support through emotional difficulty, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the impact of trauma, offering a thoughtful, creative space for understanding and change.
