About New Leaf Counselling Derby

New Leaf Counselling offers compassionate, evidence-based therapy for adults navigating difficult emotions and life challenges. The practice specialises in helping people understand and care for themselves better, drawing on years of experience counselling those who have experienced trauma, anxiety, low mood, and bereavement.

Therapeutic approaches include Person-Centred Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy (an integrative model incorporating CBT, Attachment Theory, and Polyvagal theory), and trauma-sensitive somatic interventions. The therapist is a qualified Trauma therapist with particular expertise in childhood trauma, domestic abuse, and relational difficulties. Bereavement support is also available, informed by specialist palliative care experience.

General counselling sessions address a wide range of concerns, including work-related stress, anxiety, depression, and low mood. The practice takes a person-centred approach, meeting clients where they are and working collaboratively towards meaningful change.

New Leaf Counselling is accredited with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and also offers clinical counselling supervision for qualified and student counsellors, delivered both in person and online.
