About Michelle Painter
Michelle Painter is a clinical psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. She offers expert psychological therapy for adolescents and adults aged 15 and over, drawing on a range of evidence-based approaches tailored to individual needs.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) forms the foundation of her work, complemented by EMDR—a therapy recommended by NICE for which she holds accreditation with the EMDR Association UK. She also integrates third-wave cognitive therapies including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Schema Therapy, applying techniques where indicated as most helpful for each client.
Michelle provides specialist ADHD assessments for both adults (age 18+) and adolescents, offering comprehensive evaluation and diagnosis. Beyond individual work, she offers ADHD coaching, couples counselling, family and systemic therapy, and group therapy for people experiencing similar difficulties. Sessions are available online, face-to-face, or by telephone, providing flexibility to suit different preferences and circumstances.
Her practice supports anyone seeking psychological support for emotional wellbeing, life challenges, relationship difficulties, or neurodevelopmental concerns, using clinically rigorous, personalised approaches.
