MCSDA – Modern Combatives and Self Defence Academy offers martial arts and self-defence training for all ages and abilities. The academy teaches Stringer Ryu JUKADO, a multi-discipline modern martial art designed to provide an all-round, effective method of self-defence.

Classes are structured by age group. Children aged 6 to 9 years can join SD4K Self Defence for Kids, which develops flexibility, strength and balance through practical training. Cadet classes welcome young people aged 10 to 15 years, while senior classes for those aged 16 and over teach the complete Stringer JUKADO system. The academy also offers advanced self-protection classes for females aged 14 and over, focusing on effective self-defence methods tailored to this group.

Beyond the core martial arts curriculum, MCSDA runs additional disciplines including aikido, karate, wrestling and adaptive karate, as well as specialist Fear Fighter self-defence courses. This variety ensures there is something suited to different interests and needs.

The academy is led by instructors with extensive professional credentials. Leadership holds memberships with the Kodo Butoku Remnei (Old Ways Martial Virtues Federation), the World Street Combat Systems Organisation, the World Association of Martial Arts Masters, the World Sokeship Council and the British Combat Association, bringing depth of experience and international recognition to the programmes offered.
