About Materna Osteopathy
Materna Osteopathy offers hands-on osteopathic care for patients across all life stages, from babies and children through to adults and older people. The practice is GOsC registered and staffed by practitioners holding the M.Ost (Hons) qualification from the European School of Osteopathy, with membership of the Institute of Osteopathy.
The core osteopathic approach uses manual therapy and joint mobilisation to address common musculoskeletal concerns including back pain, neck pain, sciatica, and sports injuries. Cranial osteopathy is offered for babies and children, used to support conditions such as colic, feeding difficulties, and flat head syndrome. For adults, the practice also provides western medical acupuncture, dry cupping, and manual lymphatic drainage as complementary techniques.
Materna has particular expertise in women's health. Pregnancy-related care addresses pelvic pain, back pain, and postural strain through safe, hands-on treatment. Postnatal recovery is supported through dedicated programmes including Mummy MOT assessments for pelvic floor and core rehabilitation. Pregnancy and postnatal acupuncture are also available.
Paediatric osteopathy offers very gentle, hands-on treatment for babies and children, addressing everything from colic to growing pains. The practice also welcomes older adults, using highly adapted techniques for those living with arthritis, chronic pain, or reduced mobility.
