About Liz Merrell

Liz Merrell is an MBACP-registered counsellor and psychotherapist offering integrative relational therapy to adults and young people. She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Relational Counselling & Psychotherapy from Leeds Beckett University and draws on a range of evidence-based psychological approaches in her work.

Liz offers general counselling sessions alongside specialist therapeutic modalities including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused brief therapy, and transactional analysis. She also integrates body and energy psychotherapy, particularly in working with how negative and traumatic experiences are held in the body. Her practice is informed by person-centred theory, Jungian approaches—including the use of creativity, spirituality, and dreams—and compassion-focused methods.

With many years of experience in enabling people to explore and express themselves both creatively and therapeutically, Liz combines talking therapy with complementary approaches including therapeutic touch and energy healing. She tailors her work to each individual, drawing on the approach or combination of approaches that best suits your needs.

Liz offers a free introductory session (30–45 minutes) by phone, video, or in person, giving you the chance to meet her and discuss what you're looking for before committing to ongoing work. She provides a confidential, non-judgmental space for reflection and change, helping you understand yourself more deeply and move towards the outcomes that matter to you.
