About Joanna Brett
Joanna Brett is an NCT-trained Breastfeeding Counsellor and Doula UK registered Postnatal Doula offering practical and emotional support to new and expectant parents during one of life's most transformative periods.
With qualifications dating back to June 2013, Joanna brings depth of experience to breastfeeding support, helping families navigate feeding—whether exclusively breastfeeding, expressing, combination feeding, or introducing solids. She works with parents and babies from newborn through toddler years, addressing concerns and building confidence at every stage.
As a Postnatal Doula, Joanna provides hands-on support in the early weeks after birth, helping families adjust to life with a new baby while attending to both practical needs and emotional wellbeing. She is also a Developmental Baby Massage Teacher certified by Peter Walker, sharing techniques that parents can use to connect with and soothe their babies.
Recognising that many challenges in the postnatal period relate to sleep, reflux, wind, excessive crying and parental physical and mental health, Joanna has completed training in Holistic Sleep Coaching to offer informed perspective on these interconnected issues. Through counselling sessions, she provides a space to explore the emotional and mental health dimensions of early parenthood.
Joanna's approach draws on her training with Conscious Birthing and her active involvement with the NCT community. She offers support tailored to each family's unique circumstances and values, helping parents feel heard, informed and equipped during the transition to parenthood.
