About Glynneath Karate Club

Glynneath Karate Club has been training martial artists since 1971, making it one of the longest-running karate clubs in Wales. The club is affiliated with the Welsh Karate Association, British Karate Federation, European Karate Union, and World Karate Federation, and was a joint founder of the Welsh Karate Association itself.

The club specialises in Wado-Ryu Karate, teaching both juniors and senior beginners through regular weekly classes. Beyond traditional karate training, the club offers fitness and defence training for those interested in practical self-defence skills. Women's self-defence and fitness courses can be arranged to suit individual needs. For senior students, additional training in Ju-Jitsu and Aikido is available, with visiting instructors bringing expertise across multiple martial arts disciplines.

Whether you're looking to develop martial arts skills, build fitness through combat training, or learn practical self-defence techniques, Glynneath Karate Club offers a welcoming environment grounded in over 50 years of experience and genuine federation credentials.
