Gherardo Counselling is a MBACP qualified, accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist offering a range of evidence-based talking therapies tailored to your needs.
The practice specialises in several therapeutic approaches. Psychodynamic therapy works at a deeper level to help you identify feelings, emotions and behaviours, drawing on Freudian concepts including the unconscious mind. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) focuses on how your thoughts affect your feelings and behaviours, while Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a mindfulness-based approach that uses metaphor and mindfulness skills to support lasting change.
Gherardo has a special interest in supporting clients suffering from anxiety and depression, and brings extensive experience to bereavement counselling, having worked as a bereavement counsellor with East London and the City Bereavement Service. The practice also offers couples counselling, drawing on volunteer experience with Relate, and can help with anger management and other relationship difficulties.
With over 1000 hours of one-to-one counselling experience, Gherardo has particular expertise in supporting gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender clients.
