About E D A S

EDAS provides talking therapy and counselling to support people through a wide range of challenges. Counselling sessions are weekly and typically last 50 or 55 minutes, offering a confidential space to work through difficulties at your own pace.

The therapists at EDAS specialise in a range of evidence-based counselling techniques. These include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), which helps identify and change unhelpful thought patterns; Person-Centred Therapy, a humanistic approach focused on your own resources and growth; and Art Therapy, which uses creative expression as part of the therapeutic process.

EDAS provides personal and confidential support for stress and anxiety, depression, family and relationship issues, trauma and grief, and addiction-related concerns. The service has developed specialist provision for people experiencing struggles with any addiction issues, recognising that support needs vary across the community.

Beyond one-to-one therapy, EDAS offers additional wellbeing resources. Coffee Connection is a free peer support group providing a mental health support network for adults, while the BeWell Project is a free, interactive wellbeing programme designed to be informative and empowering. For young people, EDAS/REACH Young People offers a free, confidential drug and alcohol service for under 18s.

Whether you're seeking structured therapeutic support, peer connection, or preventative wellbeing resources, EDAS aims to meet people where they are and support them through life's difficulties with compassion and professional expertise.
