About Dr Carolyn John
Dr Carolyn John is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 35 years' qualified experience. She is registered with the Health Care Professions Council, a Chartered Fellow of the British Psychological Society, and an accredited CBT therapist with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy. She is also a qualified EMDR therapist, engaging in regular professional development through local and national networks.
Dr John offers psychological therapy and counselling to children, young people, adults and couples. Her clinical work addresses anxiety, depression, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder, bereavement and loss, stress, sleep difficulties, addiction, obsessive-compulsive disorder, chronic pain, relationship issues and eating disorders. She provides clinical psychological assessments and delivers evidence-based interventions including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and EMDR therapy.
Sessions are available both in person and remotely via Zoom and telephone, offering flexibility to suit your circumstances. Dr John also provides employee assistance and staff counselling services for companies and occupational health departments, as well as medico-legal expert witness assessments in personal injury, clinical negligence and forensic mental health matters.
