What style of karate do you teach?

We teach JKA Shotokan Karate and are affiliated to the Japan Karate Association (JKAE). We're the main dojo for the JKA in Wales, with training led by experienced instructors including JKAE Chief Instructor Sensei Yoshinobu Ohta.

When do you hold classes?

We hold training sessions on Monday and Thursday evenings at the King Henry VIII School Activity Studio (accessed from the leisure centre car park).

Are beginners welcome?

Yes, beginners are very welcome at any time. New starters in January receive 2 weeks of training free (up to 4 lessons), giving you a great opportunity to try karate with us.

Is karate a good workout?

Karate provides an excellent workout, and trainees are not expected to push themselves beyond their own limits, making it accessible for different fitness levels.

Do you offer karate for older people?

Yes, karate is offered as an ideal activity for people in their later years and can provide numerous benefits for seniors.
